the behavior seems to be relatively universal among various species of crows and ravens across the world

they seem to do it with anything they can find that has a tail, ranging from something as small and harmless as squirrels to something as large and deadly as eagles

i have absolutely no idea what their motives are, other than to be mischievous and cute

Okay, I’d really like to understand the big resistance to GMO plants. I’ve seen images depicting corn with a face. That’s really not the point of them, the modifications are things like drought resistance for countries with that kind of environment.

I mean, I don’t want plants on steroids, but isn’t drought resistance a good thing? It could help end hunger in arid countries.

I think a lot of my inability to understand why it’s such a huge issue is because my uncle used to be the vice president of Monsanto and he’s now moved to the Gates Foundation and he helped develop GMOs…

Also, if I get any shit about my uncle, I’m going to punch you in the fucking face. He’s human and he’s an incredibly wonderful person who threw himself into his work after his wife passed away from ovarion cancer.

GMOs are not a mystery but a lot of people don’t actually know the process of making them! I’m glad you were curious :)
I originally thought, “Who cares about GMOs? They’re just bigger crops with higher yields right?”
Well, after much research I found myself to be wrong. Not much is known about the long term affect of GMOs on humans and very little research has been done. However, there has been a study in which mice were fed genetically modified corn and trace amounts of a pesticide which lead to huge, grotesque tumors in 70% of them.
But even the potential adverse health affects doesn’t bother me as much as what I found out today. GMOs are actually made by taking the DNA of one organism and splicing it with the DNA of another organism. Genetically modified plants can be spliced with the DNA of animals, fungi, bacteria and other organisms. I don’t know about you but that alone is enough to make me disgusted.
Now, 90% of the food that Americans consume is genetically modified. I don’t know if you’re in the US but I am and I am genuinely terrified.
Sorry if I overloaded you with my rant. GMOs are a scary thing, my friend. And don’t just take my word for it, please look up information on it because what’s going into your body is an important thing to be informed about!

I hate how my mom always turns it into how I don’t want to spend time with the family because I’m selfish.

No. It’s not that. It’s just that every time you decide for us that we’re going to have fun, it ends up being the exact opposite. And yes, it’s you deciding. My brother and I have both told you that we don’t care about vacations or celebrations. But still you decide that it will be fun for us.
During, you’re stressed. You yell at everyone and get angry because you’re organizing everything for everyone else to have fun but we’re not having fun and neither are you so what’s the point?!
My birthday, for example. I said I wanted to do nothing. You responded by getting the family together and yelling the whole day because you didn’t know how shit was going to work itself out but really I DIDN’T EVEN WANT TO DO ANYTHING FOR GODS SAKE!!!!

The past is gone, you can’t do anything about it but let it go and learn from it. The future doesn’t exist and has potential to never exist. The present, that’s where it’s at. That’s what’s going on right fucking now. And what am I going to do about it?! Everything that I ever do ever!
I am going to laugh and cry and love and hate and feel everything that I ever feel.
Deeeeeeep breaths, God they feel so nice. It just feels so fucking wonderful to be alive and be able to perceive things and I can’t explain why but you know what I don’t care! It’s just so wonderful! I feel love all around me, Earth hugging me tightly to her skin and the beautiful composition of sounds that calls me to live among it!

Photographer Gabriele Galimberti’s grandmother said something similar to him before one of his many globetrotting work trips. To ensure he had at least one good meal, she prepared for him a dish of ravioli before he departed on one of his adventures.

“In that occasion I said to my grandma ‘You know, Grandma, there are many other grandmas around the world and most of them are really good cooks,” Galimberti wrote via email. “I’m going to meet them and ask them to cook for me so I can show you that you don’t have to be worried for me and the food that I will eat!’ This is the way my project was born!”

The project, “Delicatessen With Love”, took Galimberti to 58 countries where he photographed grandmothers with both the ingredients and finished signature dishes.

He acted as photographer and stylist during each shoot with the grandmothers, taking a portrait of both the women and the food they made for him.
